1. PROGRAM 2007
Our 2007 program has just been released. There's an excellent mix of movies on the bill for this year's festival. We think you're really going to enjoy what the jury has selected for you. You'll see a little animation, a little documentary, a little fantastical tale and plenty of sweet stories.
Tons of films were submitted from around the world, and this year 20 of them made the final cut. The overall quality of movies this year was superior to every other year and the jury really had their work cut out for them.
2. THANKS, JURY!
Special thanks goes to our esteemed jury for their hard work choosing this year's program. We told you bribing the jury was perfectly okay, and some of you actually did. We put that bribe money to good use and bought some bourbon. Our jury will be at the Friday night screenings, so you can meet them in person then. For more information on the jury, read their bios on our website.
3. LET ME WATCH BIKE MOVIES!
This year we're expanding the festival to seven screenings up from just two last year. Screenings (21+) are at 7 and 9 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We also have an all ages screening at 5 on Saturday. Friday night is the Opening Night Throwdown with a raffle that features the Euro-hot Electra Amsterdam. We are not selling admission tickets in advance, so you'll just have to get to the theater early to be guaranteed a seat. We expect the Opening Night Throwdown to sell out, since it has every year, but you should have an easier time getting a seat at the other screenings.
The Opening Night Throwdown is a raucous affair, not for the faint at heart. Expect noisy crowds and a killer atmosphere. We don't call it a Throwdown for nothin'.
4. THE RAFFLE
This year's raffle is better than ever. We're still gathering up raffle prizes, so we won't yet reveal everything but here are a few sneak peeks:
* An Electra Amsterdam (see side bar)
* Two free sessions at Innergate Acupuncture
* One free hour of legal advice from bike lawyer Mark Ginsberg
* Free food and booze from Dot's Cafe
We're selling tickets in advance for the Amsterdam, in packs of five. You can also buy tickets at the Opening Night Throwdown for $1 each, good for the entire lot of raffle prizes.
