:::WHAT'S NEXT
People keep asking me what's next for Filmed by Bike. Yes, there are small plans to take it out of the Portland area. Small plans, still hatching, still maybes. Next year's festival will definitely be extended. The Clinton Street Theater is a great venue for us and we love being there, so count on the same location for next year, April 2007.
There will be mini screenings throughout the year. Stay tuned to this list for updates.
::: SPECIAL THANKS
To the volunteers, espcially Matt Takedown for film compilation, Amy Stork for being the star volunteer from start to finish, Carie W-F for transport and money oversight, and the 25 other people who made the night a raging success.
::: MAKE MORE BIKE MOVIES
The final movie (that, due to a programming error didn't show at the 7:00 show) was made by someone who had never made a movie before. It was shot on a still dig. camera and the result was so great we made it the final film of the night. Bikkake by Allison Summer is a great example of how someone with the idea, vision and creativity can make something great. Filmed by Bike is dedicated to showcasing movie makers like Allison (a.k.a. Bossyboots).
So go out there, spend the next 10 months making movies, and show me what you've got next year (deadline is March 1, 2007).
Thanks for all the fun, so far!
